I met Shaunie right after we moved up North – but even before Luke was born! We happen to have booths next to each other at Contra Costa Christian Schools Harvest Festival. We were both “peddeling our wares” so to speak. And we’ve been friends ever since!
Shaunie is the owner and founder of Friday Dreaming – a greeting card “store” that sells greeting cards to suit occasions and relationships that are often overlooked by traditional greeting card manufactures. It all came about because her husband was joyously reunited with his birth father and began to form a strong relationship. Most of the cards they found in the stores assumed “a history of shared childhood and growing up experiences.” None of them fit. So Shaunie did something brave, she decided to create, manufacture, and sell her own greeting cards. Greeting cards that are more sensitive to “untraditional” yet incredibly important, relationships.
I’m almost certain that everyone LOVES Shaunie. She is a creative entrepreneur. She loves photography and graphic design. She believes that small business ownership can and should be ministerial in nature. And she is pursuing what she is pursuing because she believes it will bring blessings on her family, as well as herself.
