What do you do when there is SNOW 10 minutes from your house?
You grab the camera and go play!!!
This is turly a novelty for us. Snow has graced the peak of Mt. Diablo. But seldom does it get anywhere near the valley. Today was different! I had no idea how low the snow fell last night when we walked out the front door. And as we drove Lucy to school I kept blinking to make sure I really was seeing snow so close to our house!
After we dropped Lucy off at school, Luke and I went to go play (after running home to get the camera, of course!!) Then, we went to pick up Lucy, and we drove right on back to the snow! You have to understand, my kids have VERY LITTLE concept of the snow. They have been to Tahoe once in the snow – over a year ago now. And last night as we read the book “The Snowman” neither one of them could understand why being near the fireplace would be bad for a snowman. Today, they got a hands-on education in snow. What a treat!
I don’t think I’ll ever forget today. Magical is the word that comes to mind…and fleeting. As I type this it has started to rain, and I’m sure the snow is all but gone. But what a great day we had while it lasted!
