Wedding University || Bay Area Wedding Photographer

Simple, the Wedding University is a one day of classes led by industry leaders designed to educate brides and grooms on how to plan a wedding.

But Wedding University is actually much more than that. Founded and hosted by Jubilee Lau and Jean Marks, Wedding University is an experience, an experience that showcases contemporary gowns, hair and make up stylings, room/table decor, lighting, music, food – everything that is involved in planning a wedding. But Wedding University provides the experience as well as the behind the scenes sneak peek into how the experience was created so that brides and grooms can go home and make their wedding day everything they are dreaming it can be.

I found out about Wedding University from Janece Shellooe, a Northern California wedding planner who I have had the opportunity to work with first hand and get to know as a friend. Janece worked with Jubilee and Jean coordinating many details of the Wedding University. I can honestly say that if I were to get married again, the first person I would hire would be Janece. My role at Wedding University was to photograph the lovely ladies who modeled the gowns. With their hair and make up styled by the esteemed Armando Sarabia of Get Your Do Up, the gowns provided by the stylish Gabrielle Medrano of Gabrielle’s Bridal Atelier, and the striking backdrop of the Four Seasons East Palo Alto, I was able to do exactly what I love to do, use natural light to create simple yet striking images that make your eyes want to linger and move your heart to feel something new. Sarah and Kyle: Wedding

A week ago our good friends Sarah and Kyle tied the knot at their West Coast Ceremony at their home. Convenient for us, their home is across the street and two doors down. We’re so glad they moved in. More to come later, but here’s a favorite to share right now. Aren’t they a beautiful couple? Their wedding was SO MUCH FUN, if you couldn’t tell just from looking at Kyle’s lederhosen. Congrats you two! More to come later. – Chris

Relay For Life

Last weekend we attended the Relay for Life in Vallejo, CA in honor of my aunt Diane, who is fighting breast cancer. It was a very powerful weekend – we have lots more images to post! – but for now, here are a few from the Survivor’s Lap. She is a fighting survivor and we are fighting along with her!! We love you Diane and Polly!

Oh the Places Photographers Get to Go!

Like to a parade! This wonderful woman, Cathy, emailed me a few months ago and told me about this fantastic opportunity her daughter was going to be a part of…it’s called the Our Lady of Fatima Celebration. She was wondering if I’d come and document the event so they could have some pictures to enjoy after the event was over. ”Of course,” I said as I typed in Our Lady of Fatima into my Google search field…”I’d love too!” It was super fun to learn about this part of Portuguese culture and the Catholic tradition. They invited Chris, Lucy, and Luke to the parade…and we thought it would be great for the kids to see. We told Lucy that she was going to go to a parade! ”Won’t that be fun?” we asked. ”Well, are there going to be princesses in the parade?” We said no, but, we were wrong!!! Check out these images:
