Sean Patrick was born just 5 short days ago! He was lucky enough to enter the world as a little brother to Caitlyn and be brought home to live with his family in an Eichler. That’s pretty cool.

Caitlyn is a proud big sister!!!

She loves him so much!

Baby is one! | Walnut Creek Family Photographer

There really is something special about a one year old! I’m not sure if it’s the teeth popping through, if it’s the toddling around, or the complete lack of concern for the fact that they are engaged in a portrait session – I love photographing one year olds.

This Walnut Creek family called because they received a gift certificate for pictures last year for Christmas from his parents! (Side note #1 – gift cards for pictures make EXCELLENT gifts!) I was excited to finally meet them and work with their darling little girl. We met at Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek and did some fun shots there and then headed over to the park behind the Walnut Creek library to finish up the session. (Side note #2 – they were great sports…the session started at 8:00 in the morning so we could get the best morning light…and just look at the pictures! It was worth it!)

So happy to share this lovely family with you all…

This session was so much fun because they really embraced the idea of ”The Beauty of Your Life Right Now”. We had so much fun with the chickens, making cupcakes, playing board games. Together, we strategized ahead of time what about their life they wanted to capture, and then we made it happen. It was, and I know usually this isn’t how someone would describe a photo shoot, but it was powerful. It felt like together we were choosing how to remember and preserve this little part of their life that soon would be gone.

If I wasn’t a photographer, I would not think about a photography session as a way to intentionally remember my life – but that is exactly what it can be! So…what do you want to remember about right now? What is beautiful in these moments that you want to hang onto forever?

Family in the Park | Danville Family Photographer

Is it weird that I love taking family pictures this much? I know personally how much it means to me when I have a beautiful image of the people that I love to showcase and share…so the opportunity to create that for others brings me so much joy! I headed out to Danville last week for a quick lifestyle session with this wonderful family.

This sweet Danville family has their hands full! A 3 year old and a 1 year old means that the photography session is full of “The Itsy Bitsy Spider”, lots of running and changing things up. It’s a workout for sure! A physical workout and a mental challenge. I’m super happy with the images, check them out!

How much fun are these fancy new blog boards?!?! I’m loving them! Keep on the lookout for lots more .

Happy November! I hope you are all having a fantastic fall. The Goetz household has been…shall we say…BUSY…these past few months! Apparently that’s what happens when your oldest starts Kindergarten and your youngest starts Preschool. More on all that later, but for now…I want to draw your attention to…

Sweeney Family | Ohio Family Photographer

When the Sweeney family moved across country to Ohio, they also grew from a family of 6 to a family of 7 . How precious is this group of kids?!?!

We only had time to do some of the twins – so grown up now!!! They are as fun as they look!!!

Paxton Turns One | San Diego Family Photographer

Well, it’s been awhile since I’ve updated my professional work here on my blog! I can honestly say my life has been richly busy and wonderfully full. As a result, however, my poor blog was neglected. Today I decided it’s time to wipe the dust off and post some fresh images! The opportunity to share these images with you makes me happy.

And nothing makes me happier than sharing this session with my dear friends Brad & Merrilee. You might remember these images of baby Paxton -

Well, he’s not a baby anymore!!!

Paxton turned 1! And it’s easy to see that his mom and dad are more in love with him than ever!

This session was a dream session to me. We played, we did some crazy lighting things, we laughed, and we took full advantage of their totally awesome house, and we focused on capturing the beauty of the everyday.

I think one reason we all get along so well is that we worship all hold a deep affinity for Apple. Check out Paxton working the iPhone:

Ever since we met Brad and Merrilee it was clear Fergie was a part of their family.

Shortly after we took these images, Fergie passed into a more peaceful and wonderful place. I’m so glad we have these of Paxton and Fergie!

We took a stroll down to the park where we finished our session and created these images:
