We are so excited to share this beautiful Walnut Creek wedding with you! We knew from the time we first met this couple that their wedding was going to be beautiful! Kendra and Nathaniel were married in October at Walnut Creek Presbyterian Church in Walnut Creek, CA. We’ve attended many weddings there, but it was the first time we were there as photographers and we had a blast! The girls got ready in Pleasant Hill ahead of time (and the guys met up with Chris for some pictures before, too). We hope you enjoy these photographs from their wedding! The guys got ready in Downtown Pleasant Hill – check out this handsome groom!

Walnut Creek Presbyterian Church has a balcony, so Chris and I were able to split up and catch some great shots from above and down on the aisle!

The reception was held at the Pleasant Hill Community Center in Pleasant Hill, CA. What I love about Pleasant Hill Community Center is that it has beautiful grounds and is a perfect spot for beautiful outdoor pictures!

They hired an amazing caricaturist to do caricatures of their guests during the reception! BRIDES and GROOMS – great idea!! This was a HUGE hit and it was so fun to see all the drawings.

A candy table is never a bad idea.

When I think of weddings, I think happiness. I love that at weddings there are nerves, there are tears, there is excitement – but all of those things always boil down to happiness. Laughter. Joy. I love that about weddings – that even the nerves are connected to being happy and the tears stream from joy. That is why I’m a wedding photographer.

This San Francisco wedding was no different. I had the honor of second shooting this wedding for a photographer friend of mine. The more I photograph weddings the more I realize that I am determined to capture the happiness and joy that brews all day long. I love these images – I hope they make you happy too!!!

The bride and bridesmaids got ready at the W Hotel in San Francisco. I LOVE the amazing colors and shapes – the clean and modern feel of the rooms made for some really fun pictures….

After a few getting ready shoots we headed over to The Swedenborgian Church of San Francisco. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this church! It’s small and quaint, and historical!!! They had some great garden areas and lots of nooks and crannies perfect for pictures. I would love to shoot another wedding here at this church!

The inside of the church is warm and cozy. And beautiful. I love the rustic feel.

Photobooth | Carmel Mountain Ranch Country Club Wedding Photography | Marissa & Craig

When we flew down to San Diego to shoot Marissa and Craig’s wedding, we also packed up all of our gear to set up what we call “THE photobooth.” We decided a while ago that wedding receptions are WAY more fun for your guests (and your photographer!) when you have an activity for them to participate in. After all – who wants pictures of people eating? We set up THE photobooth and it’s open for business whenever there isn’t anything substantial going on during the reception (during happy hour, after dinner, during the dancing). It’s not an automated camera – one of us actually mans it (Chris took all these shots).

Craig and Marissa’s reception (at the Carmel Mountain Ranch Country Club in San Diego) was SUPER fun, and their guests got WAY into THE photobooth! Also, this gives your guests an opportunity to have a professional family portrait taken while they’re already dressed up and looking good…these images can easily become the Christmas Cards for the year, and they can always buy prints from us that we take in THE photobooth! They will thank you when they see the final images.

Brides and grooms planning your weddings…we strongly encourage you to add THE photobooth on to your package when you book us! You’ll be glad you’ll have those images of your guests having fun and being silly, and they’ll have a great time at your wedding reception. Enjoy!

USD & Carmel Mountain Ranch Country Club Wedding Photography | Marissa & Craig

We’ve been dying to show you these images from Marissa and Craig’s wedding! Marissa and Craig tied the knot at the USD Founders Chapel in San Diego, CA on July 25, 2009. The Founders Chapel is an absolutely beautiful wedding ceremony location at USD. The USD campus is so beautiful to begin with! But it paled in comparison with Marissa. She was a stunning bride and had her eye on every detail. The wedding party split up to get ready – the bride and her family were at the Doubletree, and the groom and groomsmen got ready at the Grand Del Mar (in Del Mar, CA) – and wow, is it GRAND! It was so wonderful to be back in San Diego to photograph a wedding!

Katie & Daniel : Married!

Katie is not your big, fancy, wedding kind of girl. Meetings with florists and caterers don’t excite her. Pouring over Bride magazines and Martha Stewart inspired details doesn’t float her boat. Analyzing dress patterns and rummaging through bolts of fabric doesn’t interest her in the least. The big wedding thing just isn’t Katie. Katie wanted it simple, grounded, basic. No fuss, and nothing elaborate. She was going to have a wedding Katie style which meant that there was only one requirement: that at the end of the day, she was married to Daniel. Although I haven’t asked her directly, I’m certain that Katie’s wedding met (and maybe even exceeded) her expectations. It was a complete success. At the end of the day Katie and Daniel left Heather Farms as husband and wife. And simple, grounded, and basic never looked so beautiful. Take a look for yourself!

A week ago our good friends Sarah and Kyle tied the knot at their West Coast Ceremony at their home. Convenient for us, their home is across the street and two doors down.
